A Recap of the Weekend Festivities

As promised Ramblers, I've got a lot of photos to share with you all from my festival weekend.

My boyfriend, Dave Dvorak, was a photographer for Boats and Bluegrass so he's letting me share some of his amazing work here.

The photos showcase some of my very good friends on stage-- including Jaybone Bell & Restless Lights and Jake Ilika (check them out if you haven't heard them before)-- and other faves like the Shook Twins and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.

There were also fire dancers, aerial dancers, and eclectic performances by night light dancers.

Sandwiched between bluffs candied with trees slowly transforming into their fall colors, the festival rests on the edge of the Mississippi River in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

The music flows as fast as the river current and carries from the festival grounds into the campsite where musicians and fans unite for impromptu gatherings.

One of the most amazing things happened at the fest this year (at least it was amazing to me). Two of my favorite groups, the Shook Twins and Elephant Revival, somehow wound up at my campsite after they performed at the fest Friday and began playing by our campfire. You can listen to a short clip of the late-night jams on my Instagram.

I sat in awe as they sang and played music for our small group of listeners, which later built to a mini-concert as campers heard the magic and traveled over to watch.

We also had a little birthday party for my pup, who turned two on Thursday! There was doggie cake, party hats and plenty of pooches in attendance.

Hope you all enjoy the photos. I'll have some outfit posts coming up soon!
